Errrrr... Late Monday Magic

Well, this is a post that was supposed to happen yesterday and well it is now today.

Bringing a uniqueness to a game that is set to be the same is something that I am trying to do. So I decided to create custom play mats for MTG.

This is the first of said play mats.

Original and made to make the player stand out at friday night magic or any other event.

They run $125 and I will customize them within my style range.

Third Rail Promo

Well I have finally decided on a title for my story, I will call it The Third Rail.

As the story move along it will become more apparent why this is the title but for now I will simply say that  as easily as the third rail can give life it will also take it away.

The interiors of my book will be black and white and the covers I will continue to use the sepia tone palette.
This is the wrapping that comes with my card sets. 

This is the image that was used to create the card set itself. All characters have their own card and an image of the whole group together for one of the cards.

Mutagenic Monday!

Mutagenic Growth was my very first alteration, I really enjoy the challenge of working with the original artists style and continuing it beyond the borders that the original card sets. I hope to re visit this card again and try something new and more drastic. Maybe a bit of crazy foreshortening with the arm or a close up of the head is in order. 

Either way this is one of the most challenging and fruitful hobbies that I am doing right now.

Mysticism and New Platte

Mysticism has become one of the three driving sources of power in this world I am creating.

Who better to embody this but the fabulous Madam X.

This woman lives and works next door to Turner and deals with everything from the inane to the profane. We humans being the vein sort of people that we are are more interested in our own future than the future of us all. So this has put her on the road of simple palm reading and fortunes for dollars. Could she have more than this up her fuzzy sleeves or is she nothing more than a diviner for hire?

You will be able to get a glimpse of her in action in my first short story in a few weeks.

Magic The Gathering(Magic Monday)

Inspiration comes to me from many different places, one of the big places is games.

Magic the Gathering is the biggest and has therefore held my interest the longest. Recently I restarted playing and fell in love with the art all over again. I was showing some sketches to some friends while we were playing and they suggested I try a bit of card alteration. I was like "what?" and "who?", so I investigated.

Card alteration is where an artist takes an existing card and paints, draws, or inks something on the surface to make the image different. They range from a simple addition to a fully repainted card. I enjoy adding to the cards now, usually in a humorous way. These cards are generally still legal to play in tournaments and more just to make your deck unique than anything else.

This is one that I have done and am pretty happy with. I am still gearing up but responses have been positive so I will continue.

I do believe this will become a habit.

Lets call it Magic Monday.

This is Turner, as in Turner's Tokens, she is the inspiration for my tales and the entire world I am creating. She really is nothing more than an average citizen of New Platte, except for being extremely intelligent and having the drive to get anything done. She runs on coffee and inspiration. Her main job for the city (everyone has one) is in the maintenance of the hydrogen towers within her district, but her love really is with jewelry making. She has a small successful shop and is helped out by friends when she is not available to be there due to work or any other thing that may come up.
