While I Thumbnail..A Tone Tutorial

I had a few people ask me how I get the tones in my work. I actually have a few ways
but this is the one that I use the most.

I use Manga Studio Ex for my comic which has really good tone tools.

First open a new page that is set to monochrome color.
Then on a layer set to black and white, or just black, set up your drawing.

Create a new layer for your tones. I like to use the magic marker to add my tones.

Bring up your pallet and set it to grays.
I pick a middle gray and start there as a base.

Lay down a base "flat" area.

Then to add to this I create a new layer.

Then you see using the same gray you can go over and create a shadow.

Then you can go back and clean up if you have to.
I do not use the eraser though.
Try using your magic marker set to clear.
I just feel like it is more responsive.

Well I hope this is helpful and if you have any questions post them here or email me.
I will give yo a few more tricks later.

Steam On!
